Wonderful sentiment - the only problem is we rarely find agreement on whether those who have asked legitimize our stepping in to help.

You can't be serious? Why would you want us to help our own before helping you? You're embarassed that you country couldn't work out their own problem. I agree to a certain extent; why should we risk our lives to save the likes of people like you!

I agree. If you aren't asked, then you are being incredibly presumptuous to barge on in. I look at it this way...if a situation becomes intolerable, a people will either rise up to achieve their desires, or they will cease to exist. Freedom is most valuable when fought for by the citizenry.
